World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is October 10. Here are a few ways you might mark the occasion.

At work
Use the day as a reminder to talk about mental health and share resources with your team. You could say something like:

“It’s World Mental Health Day! Don’t forget about the incredible resources we have through our health plan. I downloaded the meditation app a few months ago, and it’s really helped me reset during stressful days.”

Small nudges like this can make it easier for others to take care of themselves, too.

In your community
Consider giving your time or support to organizations that promote mental health and well-being. Whether you’re drawn to issues like addiction, suicide prevention, abuse, or trauma recovery, there are local groups doing important work that could use your help. To find opportunities, call 211 or visit nami.org/findsupport.

For yourself
Mental Health Day is also a great time to focus on your own mental health.
Maybe it’s a walk outside, lunch with a friend, or watching something that makes you laugh. Or maybe it’s taking a deeper step—reaching out to a therapist, having a hard conversation you’ve been avoiding, or finally asking for the help you need.

Whatever you decide, I hope that World Mental Health Day inspires you to find and share greater connection and well-being.
