Glamour has a fantastic article this month on the team of women who worked tirelessly to ensure that U.S. Olympics Gymnastics Team doctor Larry Nassar was held accountable for the horrific abuse he inflicted for so many years. I’ve been so impressed with the way the survivors supported each other throughout the case, and to see 84 of them standing together in the Hall of Justice brought tears to my eyes. I had not heard before reading this piece that Nassar agreed to the victim impact statements as part of his plea. It wasn’t the judge acting on her own–he consented to hear those statements, which meant that 150 women over seven days were able to confront him in court and share their stories.
