Trauma in the workplace affects individual well-being and organizational success. I spoke recently on the TechLead podcast about how to better support employees and colleagues through periods of trauma and distress. Step one? Managers should look out for changes in behavior and check in with their employees, even if everything seems fine. Simply asking “Are you okay?” can go a long way in building trust and making someone feel heard. Then, when they do open up, acknowledge their concerns, take them seriously, and ensure they know about the supports available.

Let’s work together to support each other in the workplace. Together, we can create a more compassionate and empathetic workplace culture. For more, listen to the full TechLead podcast.
