LEARN TO LEAD WITH COMPASSION

WATCH THE REPLAY NOW!

Create a Workplace that Thrives

It’s been a hard few years. So many people are struggling with challenges in the world, in their communities, at home, and at work. The ways we support each other now will have a lasting impact on individual well-being, trust between colleagues, and organizational success for years to come. Let’s make sure we do it right.

59% of Americans say the past 12 months have been the most stressful of their entire lives.

Nearly half of employees say their mental wellbeing declined in 2022, and 28% are miserable in their workplace.

When we support one another through hard times, we build long-lasting trust that enhances healing and connection. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to respond with compassion and calm to those experiencing distress at work. We worry we’ll say the wrong thing, cross a boundary, or that in supporting others, we’ll deplete ourselves. In this webinar, I’ll teach you my LASER Technique–the five steps to an empathetic response to trauma on the job, as discussed in my book, The Empathetic Workplace.

83% of employees said they’d be willing to earn less to be happier. They’d give up 11% of their salary to work where employees are engaged and leadership is emotionally intelligent.

More than half (52%) of employees don’t feel they get enough support from their employer for their mental wellbeing.

I'm Katharine Manning

I’ve worked with people in trauma and distress for more than 25 years, including 15 years at the U.S. Department of Justice, where I advised on supporting victims of terrorism, child exploitation, human trafficking, and more. Now with my company, Blackbird, I provide training and consulting for organizations on supporting their employees, clients, and the communities they serve through hard times. My work has been featured in the Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Newsweek, Business Insider, and CEO World, and I teach at American University and in the Master’s in Trauma-Informed Leadership Program at Dominican University.

I know how hard it can be to support someone who’s struggling, and I also know how to do it in a way that provides genuine support without exhausting ourselves. In this session, I’ll teach you how.

The Way We Support Each Other Matters

The way we show up for our employees, co-workers, and clients in hard times has a lasting impact on individual well-being, trust in relationships, and ultimately, on our organization’s success. It’s never been more important. In the past few years we’ve seen an increase in mental health challenges due to Covid, economic uncertainty, political unrest, mass violence, and more.

Those who have the skills to support their teams through the challenges of today and those on the horizon will build long-lasting trust, engagement, and loyalty.
