I’ve now trained thousands of people in corporate, government, education, and nonprofit organizations on my LASER Technique for responding with empathy to trauma in the workplace. I’ve learned so much about how to balance the research and the data with the stories, practical advice, and exercises to make sure the lessons stick.

People have asked me numerous times over the years about creating a certified trainer program, and I’ve finally decided that it’s time. This fall, I am opening up five slots for a pilot program. I will meet with the five individuals selected to discuss the timing and format that makes the most sense for the group. I will give you an in-depth training on the Technique and share PowerPoints, marketing materials, and the framing that I have found most effective for teaching others. We’ll discuss pitching this work, conducting the training itself including common questions and responses and role modeling as we’re presenting, and the follow-up that ensures ongoing support and understanding. I can’t wait!

This is a great fit for HR or learning and development professionals who’d like to train their in-house teams and managers or for professional coaches, speakers, and consultants who want to add trauma-informed practices to their repertoire.

If you are interested in joining this first cohort, please message me at kmanning@blackbird-dc.com. We’ll set up a time to discuss. The timing and cost are to be determined based on these conversations, but my plan is to have the group selected by the end of August and to have each of you certified and ready to train by the end of the year. Any questions? Just reach out.
